SIXTY-EIGHT players took part in a John Goodwin/St Michael's Hospice charity golf day at The Worcestershire Golf Club in Malvern Wells on Friday.
The event was won by 'Four Play' from Ross-on-Wye in a tightly fought competition, with only four points separating the top four teams.
Nicki West, the recently appointed chief executive of St Michael's Hospice, attended the dinner in the evening.
John Goodwin, who organised the event, said: "The day was a great success and I believe everyone had a good time. We were extraordinarily fortunate with the weather, if it had rained on the day there was every possibility that the course would have been closed.
"I am delighted that the day raised a figure of approximately £3,000 for the hospice which will be added to the amount we have already raised by taking part in the sponsored fun run organised by St Michael's."
The firm of John Goodwin are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and are organising a series of events to raise money specifically for St Michael's Hospice.
