MANOR Park Ladies' captain Thelma Knight celebrated her birthday on Tuesday with a five-shot victory over visiting Malvern Priory Ladies.
Thelma's triple, skipped by Doreen Dyson, defeated Ros Devereaux's trio 17 shots to 10. Skips Jean Meek (Manor Park) and Jean Groves (Priory) fought out a thrilling 16 shot-all draw and the visiting triple, led by Joan Hunter defeated Doreen Lloyd-Jones' by 26 shots to 24.
Mrs Knight said: "Due to competitions and holidays, both sides had to draft in some male club members to make up the numbers, but we didn't insist that they wear skirts.
"We were lucky with the weather, it was a very pleasant afternoon and an enjoyable game."
