SIR - Am I the only one to notice that neither Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of this country, nor John Prescott the Deputy Prime Minister of this country, could be bothered to attend the Returning of the Fallen Warriors ceremony at RAF Brize Norton?

There has never been any senior government personage to pay any form of respect to our fallen heroes. This is an insult to the bravery and courage these dead heroes. They gave their all. Our prime minister and his deputy could not even find half an hour of their precious time to see our fallen soldiers back to the country for which they had just given their lives. I am ashamed.

JACK KINSMAN,

Grimsby.
