SOLDIERS past and present gathered to share stories at an annual reunion at Worcester Rugby Club.

About 280 former soldiers who served with the Worcestershire Regiment, the Sherwood Foresters and the Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters Regiment spent time catching up with old friends and brothers in arms.

Major Bob Prophet, secretary of the Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters Regiment, who is based at the regimental headquarters at Norton Barracks, Worcester, said: "There were about 650 people there. That included former solders, family and current soldiers, so it was a good turnout. There were about 50 serving soldiers of all ranks from our 1st Battalion, based in Hounslow.

"The serving soldiers found it fascinating to find out the differences between then and now, as did the older soldiers to find out about what life in the Army is like these days. It was an exchange of lifestyles.

"I walked around listening to people and seeing how they were all catching up."
