PERSHORE High School student, Gareth Hunt, has been selected to race for Great Britain at this month's Marathon World Cup 1 Canoeing Event in Spain.
The GB team comprises of ten senior men/women and seven juniors, all kayakers, except for Gareth who is a canoeist.
His previous international competitions have been over sprint distances of 500m and 1000m whereas the marathon event covers 20.1 kilometres.
The Marathon World Cup Series continues with World Cup 2 in Slovakia in July and the World Cup Championship in France at the end of September.
