A MAKESHIFT Pershore side reached the third round of the Worcester-shire County League Knockout Cup last Wednesday with an eight-wicket win at Droitwich.

Fielding four regular second-teamers, the visitors were in control throughout after Martin Johnson had swiftly removed the top trio of home batsmen after Lee Wilks had won the toss.

Droitwich never recovered and their 14 eight-ball over total of 86-9 was never going to be sufficient.

Tom Percival and Steve Cooper had reduced the target by 33 within the opening four overs of Pershore's reply and it was left to Reuben Rivers-Smith to score an unbeaten 31 to steer the visitors to victory with 12 balls rem-aining.
