A GROUP of Stoke Heath residents were full of praise for an electricity company after a recent power cut.
Residents of Cooper Close contacted Central Networks following a power cut last Thursday at around 6pm.
Four properties in the close lost all their mains electricity supply and one of the houses without power was occupied by an elderly lady.
Cooper Close resident Ron Griffiths called Central Networks and explained that it was imperative that the electricity supply was restored as soon as possible. The company said that an engineer would be despatched as soon as it could.
Within 45 minutes an engineer appeared and assessed the situation and advised that there was a fault with the cables under the road and that a team would be there to dig a hole, find and rectify the problem.
Shortly afterwards another van arrived and work commenced and a large hole was excavated and the faulty cable replaced.
Cooper Close residents said they were surprised by the quick action taken. Alex Dalling, whose house was directly in front of the excavation, added: "We were delighted with the speed of the repair and very impressed with the professional way it was handled - well done and many thanks to Central Networks."
