WHAT heady perfume floated in the air of our meeting hall. There were rhododendron, apple blossom cowslip, wisteria and many bluebells and a display of lilac. No, it was not Gardeners Question Time, the blooms made up our flower competition.
It was a delightful scene in which to take serious thoughts concerning this year's resolutions. Global warming and how renewable energy technologies must be put in place. Most of the resolution was passed, but the members left the vote to the discretion of the delegate as there was much concern as to how the enormous cost and the post 2012 Olympic facilities would be justified.
Things coming up in the future include a trip to Tate Britain, An Entertainment with Cole Porter and the introduction to every member of the new magazine WI Life.
Our lucky bursary winner was Margaret Gearey.
