HENRY Burling added another trophy to his collection when he won the Junior Open at Redditch last Wed-nesday.

The 15-year-old is one of the Vale Golf and Country Club's talented young players and that was seen to the fore as the teenager's gross round of 77 earned him victory by three shots.

Burling, whose dad Clive is in charge of the junior section at the Bishampton club, is the current Vale junior champion and also holder of the Evesham Junior Open title - one that he is set to defend next month.

And, just for good measure, the youngster's gross score of 71 was the best gross effort on the 18-hole International Course and one that saw take second place overall in a half-term competition.

Results - International Course: 1 R Wylie 92-24-68; 2 H Burling 75-4-71; 3 R Cantrill 97-24-73. Lenches (9-hole): 1 R Copperthwaite 46-15-31; 2 D Scrivens 48-17-31; 3 J Ritchie 46-13-33.
