I CONGRATULATE W Groves for voicing the opinion of many local residents regarding the shabby welcome that Droitwich extends to visitors approaching the town via the Hanbury Road junction.
It is a sad and depressing entrance to the town and completely at odds with the aesthetic qualities of other areas of Droitwich.
May I add that the neon signage of these corner shops attract attention in a blatantly vulgar manner. Not only is the games shop dominant with green neon, but it also boasts numerous cheap posters in its window. Is the other shop's yellow neon an attempt to distract us from these posters which are plastered onto the window using a blue adhesive in an extremely second-rate and amateur fashion?
With the frequent congestion caused by the junction, on-road parking and car transporters, we are forced to sit and contemplate this oasis day in and day out.
Is there nothing that Wychavon District Council can do to improve this embarrassing eyesore?
