OF all the reports and information in your paper dated May 24, the one stated by Councillor Roger Hollingworth - when referring to the charge of car parking for the elderly and disabled, is surely one of the most arrogant.
How dare he suggest that the elderly should pay £30 per year or, as he puts it, 58p per week to help balance the council's books.
The elderly are the most vulnerable section of the community so I suppose this is why they have been targeted to help put money in the council coffers.
I do not believe many other sections of the residents have been asked to sacrifice some of their income and certainly not the district councillors.
