BADSEY'S Saturday score of 275-8 proved too many for Highley to chase as they settled for a losing draw at Ballards Park.

Tim Evans top scored with 91 and shared stands of 88 and 57 with Nick Powell (31) and George Cowley (60) before being caught in the 35th over with the scoreboard reading 184-4.

Badsey accelerated in the final ten overs and it looked like they would need every one of their runs when Highley's openers had added 136 at drinks.

The stand had reached 141 when Sam Thomson took the first of three wickets to remove Nigel Humphries for 52 but fellow opener Mark Steele went onto reach his century before becoming the third wicket to fall with the total on 200.

Once the visitors had achieved extra points having scored 75 per cent of their target, they blocked out the remaining overs and closed on 215-4 with Tho-mson taking 3-44 of 12 overs.
