THE delightful weather which prevailed during the Whitsuntide holidays spelt success for one outdoor gathering and the hearts of all sports and show promoters are light, while their money bags are heavy.

At Alvechurch Horse Show, at Studley picnic and races and at Redditch Temperance Festival, there were record attendences.

So far as Redditch was concerned, most holidaymakers went away, as usual.

At Alvechurch and Studley and at pretty much every town and village in the district, there were sports or other meetings which draw visitors.

The bookings at Redditch Station for the weekend and day trips exceeded those at any previous Whitsuntide holiday.

Those who arrived in the town were, on the other hand, comparatively few and they stopped no longer then they were obliged.
