Following on from Michael Amies letter of last week regarding the proposed early closure of Pershore Cottage Hospital, one has to wonder what sort of brains all these management fees are purchasing?

If we employed less managers and applied more common sense asking the staff involved where savings could be safely made then perhaps the PCT's throughout the country wouldn't be in such a mess.

With the previous reorganisation we were told that patients wouldn't suffer, we all know what has happened there! Any new reorganisation can only portend more drastic cuts with the attendant problems for patients and staff alike. The same is happening with the police authorities, the ambulance services and now I am told regionalisation is planned for the fire service, I don't think that people realise what damage this regionalisation is doing to Worcestershire. This is happening throughout all the public services and, without any referendum, we now have what equates to a regional government with no elected representation from this county. The only place that has had such a referendum was in the north of England and it was thrown out so, obviously, no attempts will be made to have one in this area!

Come on and start objecting, write letters to your MP and local government officials before democracy is totally lost.
