Stourport Divers - The club's second UK coastal dive trip saw members taking a day holiday to the Orkney Isles to dive the world famous wrecks of Scapa Flow.

After the battle of Jutland, the Armistice required the German fleet (some 74 disarmed boats) to be interned by Allies in Scapa flow, after seven months, fearing the Armistice had broken down and determined to prevent his fleet falling to the allies the German rear admiral, Reuter, gave the order to scuttle the fleet.

The club has five further UK coastal trips, numerous inland dive site trips and two dive trips abroad planned for later in the year. All new members receive free training and free loan of equipment during basic training.

Stourport Floral Art Club - A demonstration by Setsuko Watanabe commemorated the club's 50th anniversary at Areley Kings Village Hall on May 22.

An abundance of flowers on the theme of "jubilation" were arranged in a variety of containers.

Guests included Andrew Lloyd, who represented the area, and members who had been involved from the beginning of the club in 1956.

During the interval wine and a celebration cake was served.

Setsuko congratulated all the members who had entered the competition for a table arrangement suitable for a wedding anniversary.

All profits from the evening went to Acorns Children's Hospice. The club's next event is a flower festival supported by local communities on July 22 and 23 at Wesley Methodist Church High Street.

The next club meeting at the Social Day Centre, New Street is Monday, June 26 when Margaret Walker's demonstration is "a musical interlude" and the competition is "a song title".

Payment for the trip to Telford on June 30 and the anniversary lunch and demonstration at Blakelands on August 16 is due now.
