WYRE FOREST GROUP RAMBLERS ASSOCIATION -Tonight at 7pm there will be a leisurely three mile evening walk, families welcome.

WYRE FOREST LOCAL GROUP OF WORCESTERSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST -

The group had a dusk walk around Chaddesley Woods on May 12 led by the voluntary reserve manager Mervyn Needham.

A coach trip was made on May 20 to Symonds Yat to see the peregrine falcons, and also to the RSPB reserve at Nags Head in the Forest of Dean.

The next outdoor event is on Sunday, with a visit to Uncllys Farm, Ruskin Land, Wyre Forest, where the owner, John Iles, has agreed to lead a guided walk. Non-members are welcome. For further details, telephone David Howell on 01562 741891.

Wyre Forest Friendship Centre (formerly Assoc. of Retired and Over 50s) - The Bodnant Gardens coach trip, with a stop on the Horseshoe Pass, was a success.

At a recent meeting it was decided by a majority of members to change the group's name and to be an independent group. The inaugural meeting will be on Thursday, June 15 at 10am, in the Lickhill Community Centre, in the Memorial Park, Stourport.

This will begin with formation and business, followed by a quiz, and then lunch will be provided, to finish at 1.30pm.

On July 6, members will be meeting at The Eagle and Sun, Hanbury Road, Droitwich, noon for 12.30pm. A trip to Hampton Court Gardens is being planned for September 7.

SEVERN SIDE RAMBLERS - A walk of about eight miles around Kington and Hergest Ridge has been organised for Sunday. Ramblers are asked to meet at the Memorial Park Gates, Park Avenue, Stourport, at 9am prompt. Transport can be arranged.

ORETON BEER FESTIVAL - Farlow and Oreton Village Hall will be running its first beer festival on Saturday, July 8 at 2pm to help raise money for a children's play area.

Attractions will include a dog show and entertainment for the children with face painting and a bouncy castle.

The evening highlight is a performance by Tom the Frop. There will also be a barbecue.
