THREE charities are set to benefit from a share of more than £1,000 raised at The Golden Cross pub, Ardens Grafton recently.

Warwickshire Air Ambulance, Grove Hill Millennium Path, a benefactor of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, and Temple Grafton Cricket Club will all receive a share of the £1,484 raised from the pub's Graftonbury 2006 event.

The event, on Sunday May 28, saw a number of live bands perform including The Stubble Stompers, The Startled Ferrets, Colvin and Quarmby, G Men, Kathleen Turner Overdrive and Mister Meaker.

During the afternoon Temple Grafton Cricket Team held a raffle and auction with prizes such as concert tickets and golf days as well as having a chance to own a cricket player for the day.

Steve Wainwright, one of the organisers of the event, said: "We'd like to express our gratitude to all involved with the event, both those who helped and donated as well as all of who visited and helped make the day so memorable."
