Furnace Mill Fishery

CHRIS Newton came close to breaking Paul Cook's match record with a massive catch of 201lb 4oz to win the Sunday Open at Furnace Mill Fishery.

Once again the 4mm feed pellet proved effective for the pleasure anglers, although many of the Open lads switched back to 2.5mm.

Meat, worm and red maggot were the favourite hook bait but with the sunny weather floating bread and floating hook pellets worked well later in the day.
