ONE man's World Cup celebrations are certainly catching the eye of passing motorists.

Peter Coombes has decorated his home in Tolladine Road, Worcester, from top to bottom in England flags - and has vowed to keep them up until England wins the World Cup.

The 40-year-old lorry driver, told the Worcester News: "I put it up two weeks ago and will take it down when England win the World Cup."

"I'm hopeful that they will win as I've watched them play in the last two games and they all played well."

It's not the first time Mr Coombes and his family have decorated their home. They go to town with Christmas lights and put up the England flags for the last World Cup in 2002.

But this year there's even more decorations, and Mr Coombes is determined the festivities are not finished yet.

"I'm going to keep putting stuff up - there is a nine foot by six foot flag that I want to get for the roof," he said.

The football fan loves the fact that his house is completely over-the-top, and enjoys the beeping from passing cars.

Even his wife Maureen, and children Natasha, 23, Andrew, 21, Michael, 20, Patrick, 17 and Ashley, 16, are enjoying their new brightly coloured home.

"All the family love it - the kids helped me to put it all up." he said.

Mr Coombes has not missed an England game yet and is looking forward to England's first match against Paraguay on Saturday. "I'm watching the next game on a 42-inch television in my garden - while having a party," he said.

The England bug is definitely catching - with other homes in the street following Mr Coombes' lead. No one has got quite as far as the number one football fan yet - but if England carry on playing well the street promises to be a sea of red and white.
