STOURPORT Swifts boss Roy Rencher is refusing to rest on his laurels after making a glut of summer signings.

Rencher guided Swifts to Southern Football League safety in dramatic style on the final day of last season.

But he has swelled the Walshes Meadow ranks to 25 players as he goes in search of a top six finish next year.

Although Richard Burgess has left to join Bromsgrove, Rencher has moved to bring in more attacking options.

Andy Hodgetts, who scored more than 30 goals for Pershore last season, has arrived to fill the void.

Former Oldbury, Evesham and Barnt Green striker Kevin Brookes is also on board along with ex-Chasetown frontman Steve Taylor.

Rencher has also snapped up wingers Dean Wellington and Tim Jackson from Solihull and Rushall and midfielders Matty Webb, Danny Mayson and Leon Allen from Stourbridge, Kidderminster Harriers and Rushall.

Completing the signings are goalkeeper Karl Lewis from Hereford United and former Swifts midfielder Steve Hawkes who returns after a spell out of the game.

"With the squad I'm trying to put together, we'll be aiming for the top six or eight," said Rencher.
