Visitors to the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens can enjoy live music from 7.30pm until 9pm next Friday and the concert will be followed by fireworks, which will be lit at around 10.15pm.

Carnival day on Saturday, June 17, will start with the judging of the floats at Hales Park and the adults fancy dress competition at noon. The parade, led by the princesses, Emily Hyde, Hanna Francis, Emilia Fern and Shannon Bowen, will set off at 1pm and arrive at the carnival field at Bewdley Leisure Centre for 2.15pm.

There will be a tug-of-war competition, music from the Bravo Boys and dancing displays from the Severnside School of Dancing, as well as a funfair, stalls and a climbing wall.

On Sunday, June 18, there will be a Fairtrade tea party in the Jubilee Gardens, organised by Rev Keith James, of St Anne's Church, from 2.30pm until 4.30pm.

Carnival secretary, Angie Pitt, who said the carnival committee would be wearing red to mark the ruby anniversary, added: "We're really looking forward to it. We are hoping a lot of people will support us because as it is our anniversary we want to make as much money as we can."
