SIR - Tom Southam (May 26) writes about foreign nurses. In Powick Hospital in the 1960s, the West Indian, Italian and Polish nurses were every bit as friendly and helpful as their English counterparts. I used to write admiring letters to one beautiful West Indian nurse.
