BUDDING Redditch musicmakers have been fighting for a place in the final of this year's Battle of the Bands contest.
Kingsley Theatre hosted the heats for the competition and four bands were selected from 11 hopefuls to go forward to the final on Friday.
Theatre manager Cathy Moss said: "The judges found themselves faced with the impossible task of selecting four bands from a very close run contest.
"With such a high standard to select from, the judges decision -- as ever -- proved controversial and the bigK team are inviting audience members to give their own selection for the top four on the website www.thebigK.org.uk"
Bands battling for the crown are Page 44, Blackthorne Theatre, Chapter Two and The Lies in Me.
The winners will win a prize package of PA equipment, vouchers and future gigs, sponsored by Wharfedale, Sound Control, Conserve Guitars and Factory 5 promotions.
