AFTER the rip-roaring success of their single No Tomorrow, Orson have produced an easily listenable, fairly light album.
Bright Idea, the same name as their latest single, is the first offering from the cheesy American group.
Yes, they may be another poppy, rocky band but they do what they do well and manage even to appeal to a fairly cheese-loving gal like myself.
Bright Idea and No Tomorrow definitely set the tone for the album, and most of the tracks continue in a similar vein. Other favourites were Downtown and the CD's third track, Happiness.
The band's style cannot be said to be distinctive or groundbreaking but it is great fun and a perfect choice for a long car journey on a sunny day.
And at only just over 40 minutes long, it's more than manageable.
I'm no music expert, but I think this is a great first offering from Orson, let's hope they can keep to the standard they've set.
