EXHALL & Wixford maintained their title push in the Premier Division with a storming 169-run victory at Winchcombe.

On a splendid batting track, skipper Simon Hollands and Matt Gwynne put on 238 for the first wicket before the latter was finally out for 119.

Hollands went on to make 169 before being run out while Charlie Mulraine added a quickfire half century as Exhall rattled up a score of 352-2.

Fine bowling, particularly from John Simpson who took four wickets, kept the home side at bay and they were all out for 183.

There was disappointment for Division Three neighbours Great Alne and Temple Grafton as the pair suffered defeats, the former losing by seven wickets at high-flying Woodbourne while Grafton lost at home to Shipston II by four wickets.

But Cookhill maintained their place at the top of Division Five with an eight-wicket defeat of visitors Eckington.

Some impressive bowling and fielding saw Eckington dismissed for 103, Alan Smith (3-26) taking out the middle order while Andy Fennell (3-15) mopped up the tail.

The Cookhill batsmen wasted no time in reaching their target, losing just two wickets in the process and hitting the winning runs with 25 overs to spare.

Skipper Billy Harris was unbeaten on 44 and Shaun Hemming 17no as the pair continued their unbroken partnership this season. They have now put on over 200 runs this season without either of them losing a wicket.
