BIRMINGHAM city centre will be transformed to a mythical land by arts company HamFisted! on June 22 and 23.
The arts company have taken the fairy themes from William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and melded them with a host of performing arts such as acting, music, visual arts and puppetry in an outdoors spectacular called Paradise Dreaming...A City Fairytale.
Audiences will be greeted by a wedding party at 8.30pm, which quickly develops into a magical fairy celebration.
The wedding party leads through to a unique and creatively transformed Paradise Place gardens, providing an unusual and inspiring backdrop to this magical, interactive and theatrical experience.
HamFisted! are set to co-ordinate local performers aged between five and 65-years-old from Midlands groups such as Friction Arts, Hocus Pocus, The Rep and Birmingham Central Library.
The event is free but those wishing to attend are recommended to reserve tickets my e-mailing their name and address to: paradise@hamfisted.org.uk.
Tickets will be distributed on the night from a ticket booth in Chamberlain Square. Performances start at 8.30pm but people are recommended to arrive between 7.45 and 8.15pm to allow time for tickets to be collected.
