FOR the last four years my two children and I have taken part in the parade for the Bromsgrove Carnival. We have thoroughly enjoyed dressing up and raising money for the hospital. We have also felt proud to be part of the community of Bromsgrove - the place that we choose to call home.
It was therefore with great dismay that I read that once again the people of Bromsgrove are choosing to sit back and not be involved.
I know that we all have busy lives but this is once a year - and this time could definitely be the last as the current carnival organisers are stepping down and nobody is there to take their place.
This year the parade will be a complete walking one so there is no excuse about transport costs.
The costumes don't have to be too complicated either. How about 101 Dalmatians, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, book characters, the circus, World Cup football players?
So come on out there - scout groups, playgroups, guide groups or any other group working with children. Children love taking part! So do the adults. Let them feel part of their community.
Get involved please... Let's make this last carnival procession something to remember!
