Kidderminster Victoria 159-5 Bromsgrove 157-8
Bromsgrove lost by two runs
BROMSGROVE suffered a batting collapse as they were edged out in the first round of the Birmingham and District League Challenge Cup last Wednesday.
The Boars seemed in a comfortable position to chase a score of 159-7 when they reached 101-1 but collapsed to 157-8.
Bromsgrove's opponents made a strong start when Ted Bayliss hit 59 not out and Craig Wood reached 39 not out, as Kidderminster made 159-5.
Omar Ali and Simon Allison hit half centuries as Bromsgrove cruised to within sight of victory, only to crumble to 157.
Bahtia was Kidderminster's biggest threat with the ball - taking 2-9.
Captain Nick Davies said: "That was a disappointing result as we definitely had put ourselves in a very good position to win."
