Droitwich 275-6 Pershore 232-7

Droitwich grab a winning draw

SPA'S batsmen made a ferocious return to form with the willow during Saturday's winning draw over Pershore in the Worcestershire League Division One.

Jerome Connor was the man of moment for Spa as he hit a 137 run knock that swung the game in Droitwich's favour.

The batsman has been Spa's key player this season, top scoring in three of Droitwich's four matches.

Despite the excellent performances with the bat Spa's opponents doggedly held on for a share of the points.

Spa went into the game on the back of a heavy defeat to Brockhampton last week, where they were bowled out for 68.

But the team bounced back with a fine batting display. Captain Paul Bryan won the toss and opted bravely to bat.

Despite Alex Kolb's dismissal for 26 runs Jerome Connor was getting amongst the runs and was supported by Josh Staines (15) and Steve Walsh (17).

Once Connor was dismissed by Lee Wilks Bryan added a quick 18 not out as Spa made 275-6.

Michael Rogers was the pick of Spa's bowlers with three wickets, while Karl Goddard and Damon Gariff took two each as Pershore made 232-7.

Droitwich take on Chaddesley Corbett at home this Saturday (1.30pm start).
