FOUNDER Members and invited guests played in the above inaugural event, to celebrate the opening of the Vale Golf and Country Club in June 1991.

The futuristic trophy, played for by 57 members, was presented by John McGowan, founder captain, Fiona Mitc-hell, founder lady captain and current captain Trevor Sidwell.

The event was won by a team comprising Jeremy Shake-spear, Pauline Hawkins, Lady Captain and Robert Styler who were presented with inaugural replica trophies as prizes.

Following play, 82 founder members and invited guests enjoyed dinner in the Sir William Lyons Suite.

It's men's Captain's Day on Sunday when morning and afternoon Texas Scramble competitions will take place on the International Course.
