SEAN Bowden was a leading light for Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletic Club (B&R) in the Track and Field League at Yate.

Bowden was the team's star performer, winning the under-15s 1500 metres in four minutes and 26.5 seconds. He also set a personal best of 26.5secs to come second in the 200m event.

Georgina Savage was another star performer in the under-13s 1200m, finishing the event in 4.09minutes to come second.

Amy Irish made a strong debut in the under-17s 300m hurdles and came third place in 52.7secs. She also finished runner-up in the 300m (49secs) and fourth in the 80m hurdles (16secs).

Simon Lanckham set a new personal best when he finished second in the 1500m senior category and threw 5.25m in the javelin.

Dewi Hammond was second in the 100m A, finishing in 14.2secs, while Chris Warren came runner-up in the 800m. He then finished third in the 75m hurdles -- recording a time of 18.5secs.

Jamie Scoltock was third in the 200m (34.6secs) and 500m, while Ben Peat was second in the 100m B, third in the 800m B and third in the long jump B event.

Kelly Duffill came third in the under-15s 200m and set a personal best time of 28.5secs, finished third in the 100m, fourth in the high jump and set a personal best of 13.4m in the 75m hurdles.

Thomasina Ball was third in the 75m B hurdles, setting a new personal best in the process and was third in the long jump and second in the 800m B.

Holly Chapman finished third in the javelin, third in the discus and second in the 1500m. Charlotte Evans was second in the high jump B event, fourth in the discuss and won the 1500m B race.

In the under-13s girls section Romy Naven was fourth in the 75m, Kate Racki was third in the 75m B and fourth in the 150m races. Helen Racki was second in the shot putt B event, while Olivia Laxton was third in the 70m hurdles B, fourth in the 150m B and third in the shot putt A.

Sally Hogan came third in the 800m and set a personal best of 2.45mins, while Hayley Oliver was second in the 800m B and third in the high jump B.

Gabby Haines was fourth in the 70m hurdles and long jump events, while Helen Woodward was third in the high jump with a leap of 1.2m.

Manager James Adie produced a herculean effort for B&R at the Men's Track and Field League.

With many members unavailable Adie competed in seven events. His highest placing was the javelin B, which he won with a throw of 38.07m.

Sam Carter also set new standards with three personal bests. He threw 55m in the javelin A event, 35.9m in the hammer and came second in the shot putt with a throw of 11.72m. James Hart won the high jump with a leap of 1.85m.
