Tenbury 64 Worcester Dominies 66-3

A depleted Tenbury side were no match for Worcester Dominies and suffered their third defeat of the season in Division 3 South of the Crusader Worcestershire County League when they went down by seven-wickets at Penlu on Saturday.

Their problems started with the first ball which Bob Felce edged to slip and continued all of the short afternoon. The wickets kept tumbling in the face of some hostile fast bowling by Kabir Ali's cousin Sajit.

The only batsmen to offer any significant resistance were Mo Munir (14), Jay Da Costa (10) and Ben Thompson who batted through to the end in-spite of taking some nasty blows. With extras top-score they were all out for 64.

Munir took two wickets, both caught and bowled and Da Costa one to glean a point, but the visitors cruised home in 14 overs.

The second team fixture at Worcester was totally different. Chasing a massive home score of 359-2 the Tenbury second string dug in and batted out for a losing draw, finishing on 153-3.

Stand-in skipper Alan Taylor won the toss and elected to field. Dominies piled on the runs and with M Oliver (150 ret), K Ingram (77) and B D'Oliveira (50 no) flaying the depleted attack to all parts of the field. Taylor and Ollie Tyler claimed a wicket each.

With virtually no chance of looking for the win Tenbury set about saving the game. Darren Thompson (53) joined Ian Taylor at the fall of the first wicket, Kevin Merris (15), and the pair took the score past the 100 mark.

Taylor batted throughout the innings finishing on 62 not out.
