AN annual festival with live music and an outdoor play will be held at a historic house near Kidderminster later this month.

The entertainment, at Harvington Hall, starts on Friday, June 30, with a classical concert in the great chamber by the Azzura String Quartet.

The programme includes music by Mozart, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky and there will be a two-course supper with wine in the interval. Tickets need to be booked in advance.

On Saturday, July 1, there will be Elizabethan dancing for casual visitors to the historic house and in the evening there will be Jazz in the Garden.

Music lovers can sit back and enjoy a picnic while listening to the Dutch Lewis Jazz Band from 6.30pm until 9pm and tickets need to be bought in advance.

There will be a festival mass at St Mary's Church, Harvington from 10.30am and in the afternoon there will be re-enactors in the house and grounds portraying life in Elizabethan times.

Visitors will also be able to stroll around the gardens, which will be open as part of the National Gardens Charity Scheme.

The Crescent Theatre Company will present Robert Bolt's A Man for All Seasons with performances at 7.15pm on Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15 and at 3pm on Sunday, July 16.
