AN Evesham man has been sent to prison for possessing a stolen shot gun.
Daniel Gurney, aged 21, of Deacle Close in Evesham, appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday, June 13, facing allegations of possessing the firearm, going equipped for theft, and failing surrender to his bail conditions.
Gurney was arrested on April 7 after police caught him and another man, Christopher Spiers, of Hemmingway, Evesham, leaving a property in the town. He was alleged to have woollen gloves and accused of discarding a screwdriver in a front garden.
However this allegation of going equipped for theft, was dropped due to lack of evidence.
For the firearm offence magistrates sentenced Gurney to jail for four months and ordered him to pay £250 court costs.
For the bail offence he was given one day in custody.
