HATS will be flying in Bewdley on Saturday as a sombrero race gets under way as part of the town's carnival celebrations.
Silva's Restaurant in Welch Gate has organised the event, which will start at 1pm when entrants will run from Welch Gate to Bewdley Bridge and back again.
There are several prizes to be won, including a meal for two, and anyone aged 18 can buy an entry ticket from the restaurant in advance.
Competitors will get to keep their hats and all the money raised will be donated to the Mayor's charity. Further information is available from 01299 402655.
There are two events taking place in the town before the big day, including the judging at 6pm tonight of shop windows, which have been decorated with a theme of 1960s movies.
Visitors to the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens can enjoy live music from 7.30pm until 9pm tomorrow and the concert will be followed by the annual fireworks at 10.15pm.
Saturday's events start at noon with the judging of floats and fancy dress competition at Hales Park.
The parade, led by the princesses, Emily Hyde, Hanna Francis, Emilia Fern and Shannon Bowen, will set off at 1pm and arrive at the carnival field at Bewdley Leisure Centre for 2.15pm.
Attractions include a funfair, stalls and a climbing wall.
