IN the heat at Lea Lane, Cookley firsts dominated the match to bag a well-deserved win against Cutnall Green in Division Three North.

Cutnall Green won the toss and batted first but were dismissed for 219 in just shy of 50 overs, with Andy Parker and Grant Snowball among the wickets.

Despite losing early wickets Cookley raced to their target on a good batting track with nearly 20 overs to spare, thanks to scores from Snowball (82) and Paul Harris who continued his fine form this season.

Cookley seconds completed a rare double for the Lea Lane side by beating Cutnall Green on their own patch.

The home side were dismissed for just 168, Rob Horton weighing in with 4-34 for the visitors.

Cookley had a shaky start to their innings and were reduced to 21-5, but this only bought Mark Hadley and Simon Kirby to the crease, whose partnership of 151 made light work of the target, finishing unbeaten on 60 and 81 respectively.
