KIDDERMINSTER Victoria's Worcestershire County League first team continue to struggle in Division Two after another defeat in an ill-tempered match at Coombs Wood.

Batting first they could only manage 148 with several players getting started but nobody managing to build a major innnings.

KVCC responded well with the ball and had Coombs Wood 52-3 but eventually the home side got the required runs for the loss of fours wickets with one each for Stephen Yarsley, Dave Banister, Richard Eyers and Ian Kimberlin .

l There was a one-wicket victory for the seconds at home to Coombs Wood.

Anthonu Burkes was instrumental with three wickets as the visitors were restricted to 251-5, while Dan Webb and Lee Daniels took one scalp each.

Chris Baldwin was the mainstay of KVCC's batting with 109, while Norman Lamb made 41 and Amrick Singh 28 as KVCC edged to 252-9.

l KVCC thirds took advantage of a beautiful batting track to make amends for lax bowling and fielding during their Division Four victory at Hewell.

Simon Trickett and Alex Roden were unbeaten on 90 and 117 respectively as KVCC made it to 286 with five overs to spare.

That total was in response to Hewell's innings of 283-3 which included the 43 extras they were gifted by the visitors.

Seventeen-year-old Andy Cavandish bowled Hewell's opener for six in the third over while Mike Kirby Davies also did well.

l KVCC's Sunday seconds are among the early pacesetters in the Fearnley Factory Shop Worcestershire Sunday Club Cricket League.

A comfortable six-wicket win at home to Evesham has put them in third place in the table.

Veteran Bob Webb led the bowling with 3-32 as the visitors were restricted to 211-9.

And Andy Kimberlin's superb knock of 121 not out did the damage as KVCC made light work of getting the reqired runs.

He was well supported by Andy Logan (29) and Adrian Miller (17 not out) as the home side scored 214-4 with 15 overs in hand.

l There was also a resounding victory for KVCC under-17s who went batty during their trip to Rushwick.

Openers Matt Brace and A Kimberlin were in fine form with 142 not out and 85 not out as KVCC posted an incedible 241-0 from their 20 overs.

In response Rushwick never really got going and responded with 94-9. Phil Singleton was the pick of the KVCC bowlers with 3-15
