Barnards Green III v Stone

AN under-strength Stone were no match for Green thirds in this division four encounter, going down by eight wickets.

Stone elected to bat but found scoring difficult against the metronomic Chris Hill and got little change from Rich Brown. Only extras had the board ticking over.

Harler fired successive boundaries off Brown through the offside but was then bowled for 20. Despite stubborn resistance, runs were drying up.

Morley hit 21 as Stone set a victory target of 131, Clarke taking 2-27 and Hill 2-19.

In reply, Judd Doughty continued in his rich vein of form with a flurry of early boundaries and the loss of Yorke brought Freeman to the crease.

The pair added 83, with Doughty severe on the bowlers. They raced along at eight an over until Freeman (19) became Goode's second victim to one that kept low.

With only 33 runs required, Curtis (10no) joined Doughty to knock them off.

Doughty's 78no saw him pass 200 runs in his fourth innings of the season. The Green ensured the maximum 24 points and head the table.
