Eastnor II v Barnards Green II

GREEN took a young side to Eastnor on Saturday, with four under-15s on their second team debut and a more experienced under-16, Lewis Hooper.

Asked to bowl, visitors Tom Clack and James Scullion both took an early wicket to leave Eastnor struggling on 22-2 after eight overs.

Shane Thompson, playing his first game in senior cricket, struggled in his first over but soon settled down to bowl a five-over spell - a talent for the future.

Hooper bowled a long spell of off-spin, troubling all of the batsmen with his variation and finishing with 5-74 off 17 overs.

Roger Thompson again bowled a tidy spell, taking the wicket of the dangerous Steve Emery for 41.

Adam Price bowled a good line with deceptive change of pace and was rewarded with a wicket on his second team debut.

Eastnor were bowled out in the 46th over for 176, with runs for Nic Bollen (33) and Craig Wildig (23). The highlight in the field was Scullion's one-handed catch to dismiss Bollen.

In reply, Jason Brewer and Derek Goodman put on 66 in ten overs before Brewer was caught for 21. This brought Andy Wheeler to the crease and he took the bowling apart, his 50 coming in 18 balls. He finished on 90no with six sixes and twelve fours.

Green strolled home by eight wickets with 28 overs to spare.
