SMASH hit musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is coming to Malvern Theatres from Monday, June 26.

Set in 1850s Oregon, it tells the story of Adam, the oldest of seven brothers who goes to town to get a wife.

He convinces Milly to marry him that same day and they return to his backwoods home, only for her to discover that he has six brothers all living in his cabin.

Milly sets out to reform the uncouth siblings, who are all anxious to get wives of their own.

Adam develops an inspired solution to his brothers' loneliness after reading about the Roman capture of Sabine women. He decides the only way ahead is to kidnap the ladies they want.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers has been loved by audiences worldwide for decades for its energetic plot, hand-clapping tunes and thigh-slapping dance routines.

The musical features classic toe-tapping showstoppers, including Bless your Beautiful Hide, Wonderful Wonderful Day, We Gotta Make It Through the Winter, Goin' Courtin' and Sobbin' Women.

Dave Willetts, whose West End roles are numerous and include Ragtime, Cats, Les Miserables, and Phantom of the Opera, plays Adam Pontipee - the role created by Howard Keel.

Shona Lindsay, who has had West End starring roles in Phantom of the Opera and Grease, plays his wife Milly Pontipee.
