WORCESTER Rugby Club's Under 11 rugby team retained their five-year unbeaten record and also shared the national championship by drawing with Sandal in the Twickenham final.

The Sixways boys qualified to play at Twickenham after a squad of 16 players played six matches at the Nottingham Tournament. They won all six matches to go through as one of the best four teams in the country.

Worcester played the semi-final at Twickenham against Bishops Stortford and drew 0-0 which was sufficient for them to progress to the final against Sandal.

Once again, the fierce tackling of the Sixways players prevented a strong Sandal side from crossing the Worcester line and the resultant draw saw both teams share the title as best in the country.

The under 11s' all-round strength was highlighted throughout the national championships in which they scored a total of 21 tries, shared around the players, and did not concede one score against them.
