EVESHAM-based Piranha Yamaha Racing team bagged a place on the podium at their first attempt at the recent Isle of Man Supersports Junior TT.
John McGuinness confirmed his place in TT history with a tenth win on the island as well as a new lap record of 123.975mph.
Ian Hutchingson finished in second place with Bruce Ansty in third and Jason Griffiths, on the Buildbase Piranha Yamaha, in fourth place, following a titanic battle with Ian Lougher.
Later in the day, scrutineers announced they had discovered that Hutchingson's McAdoo ZX6-R machine was in breach of TT rules on motor specifications. The post race inspection picked up that the exhaust camshaft lift on the bike was 7.25mm instead of the regulation 7mm.
Hutchingson was therefore disqualified, which resulted in Ansty being promoted to second place.
In turn, Griffiths moved up into third place, putting the Buildbase Piranha Yamaha R6 on the podium.
This was a great result for the team on its first appearance at the famous Isle of Man event.
