Mojave Three - Puzzles Like You

The fifth release from the Cornish-based group who formed from the ashes of Slowdive is a joyous life-affirming affair brimming with sun-drenched west-coast melodies that have an air of The Beach Boys about them.

Tunes such as the bright and breezy Breaking The Ice are where they excel but they are also adept at more reflective numbers such as the melancholy of Most Days. A worthy contender for soundtrack of the summer.

Scott Walker - The Drift

Responsible for performing one of Burt Bacharach's classics Take It Easy On Yourself as part of the Walker Brothers, Scott's latest effort is rather less pleasing on the ear and sounds, by and large, like a musical experiment in 'far out'.

Serena Maneesh - Drain Cosmetics

Think of Norwegian music and the cheesy pop world of the likes of A-ha and Aqua spring to mind.

This emerging band aim to change all that and what better place to start than their haunting debut single Drain Cosmetics.

Driving guitars and guitar riffs merge with a persistent drumbeat like waves crashing against a shore before spacey vocals hit you like a frost on a cold morning.

Probably the most accessible tune on their forthcoming album, which contains a flurry of epic soundscapes radiating originality.
