Just what is all the fuss about? Anyone who knows the rhythm of daily life on the Homend, Ledbury, will be well aware that obstructions are part and parcel of daily life in this area.
Due to the almost permanent 'bumper to bumper' parking on the west side of the road, delivery vans and lorries are forced to either double-park or park on the opposite side of the road to effect deliveries. This frequently causes traffic jams and inevitable delays, and yes, should an emergency vehicle require access or passage through, there could indeed be a delay.
So what is so different about a bus? It is causing no more obstruction than a delivery van and is just as mobile. Should an emergency vehicle on a 'blue light' call-out require passage, I'm pretty sure the driver will receive plenty of co-operation in effecting his mission.
We don't need cones, legislation or yet more yellow lines. All we need is for common sense to prevail.
