STRIKER Luke Reynolds has turned down Football League attention to sign a one-year deal with Kidderminster Harriers.

Reynolds, 26, made a great impression in a short part-time spell at Aggborough, scoring four goals in eight games and adapting well to his first crack at the Conference.

The ex-AFC Telford and Market Drayton forward then had to choose whether to give up his college caretaker job and accept a full-time deal.

When Football League sides -- including Chester City -- began taking notice, the decision became even more difficult but Reynolds has remained loyal to boss Mark Yates.

He said: "It would have been nice to play in the Football League, of course it would.

"The offers were a bit surprising and very flattering but after going over to a couple of places I just got a gut feeling that they weren't right for me.

"I have a much better feeling about coming to Kidderminster. It's not a financial decision, it's just what feels right for me. I've jumped up a lot of leagues recently and I just want to have a go here.

"I like the feel of the club, I enjoyed my time playing here at the end of last season and I've decided to give it a go."

Reynolds, a strong player with a good eye for goal, will now wait to see who joins him in the Harriers attack with Yates having plenty of positions to fill with new signings.

He has no goalkeepers on the books after the release of Danny Lewis and John Danby who joined Chester City in the week.

Centre-halves, central midfielders and forwards will all be on Yates' shopping list.

In addition, wingers Michael Blackwood and Simon Russell are still to agree new contracts with the club.
