TALENTED townsfolk and art lovers are preparing themselves for a fortnight of exhibitions in and around Alcester.

And Henley Street resident Bill Bayley will be contributing to the colourful event with his array of winter landscapes.

Mr Bayley will be opening the doors to his home and studio for this year's display, In Winter Enjoy, as part of the Warwickshire Artsweek, which starts on Saturday and runs until Sunday, July 9.

Mr Bayley, who has been painting for 40 years, said: "I have been all over the world and painted many beautiful places, however, it dawned on me that the landscape around Alcester is as lovely as any of them. I have always wanted to paint around Alcester in winter because of the subtle colours and the sculptural form of trees. I look forward to showing my paintings to people."

For more details, call Mr Bayley on 01789 762841.

Warwickshire Artsweek is a bi-annual event funded by the county and district councils, the Arts Council and local artists.

Events will also be held throughout the two weeks at the Greig, Venue Xpresso and Longbarn Village in Alcester.
