A CRABBS Cross flat was damaged by fire after a lit candle was left on top of a fridge.
It happened in a first floor flat in Leacroft Road at 4.45pm on Saturday.
Although there was fire and smoke damage, a Hereford and Worcester Fire Service spokesman said thankfully no-one had been in the building.
"We have to keep stressing to people that they should never leave lit candles unattended at any time. This could have been a much more serious incident," he said.
