ORGANISERS of a family fun day in aid of the Craig Evans Appeal are looking for a generous sponsor.
Appeal director Jean Leathwaite told the Advertiser they "desperately needed" a major sponsor for the Arrow Valley Park event on July 22.
"We need to cover the basic costs of the day so we do not have to tap into the appeal funds. This will also ensure all the money from the event can go to help disabled people in Redditch," said Mrs Leathwaite.
The fun day promises a vast array of stalls, games, refreshments and family activities from noon-6pm.
It is being held in memory of disabled Redditch man Craig Evans, who died earlier in the year, shortly after a fundraising campaign was launched to buy him a special wheelchair.
However, the appeal has continued in his legacy and so far Kieron Hoult, from Lodge Park, who has similar disabilities, has benefited from a new trike from the funds.
Kieron, six, said: "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the appeal which has helped me become more mobile.
"I am now able to play out with my friends on my new trike and I am hoping to ride it on the day of the summer fair."
Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can call Mrs Leathwaite on 401782. Residents can also pay donations into the appeal at HSBC Bank in Church Green.
