Bromsgrove and District Canine Society held its second show of the year at All Saints Hall, Burcot Lane.

This was judged by Penny Lester, a successful breeder of champion cocker spaniels. An entry of 81 dogs was excellent for our evening show.

Best in show went to Mr and Mrs Stilgoe's pointer dog, from Worcester. This was not the first time they have achieved this award. It's obviously a lucky show for them.

Reserve best in show and best opposite sex went to Mr, Mrs and Miss Colson's flat coated retriever bitch from Bradley Green.

Best puppy also went to a local exhibitor who attends ringcraft in Bromsgrove - Mr and Mrs Caple's whippet dog puppy, aged six months - as does the reserved best puppy, Miss Inett's cairn terrier bitch.

Other Bromsgrove winners were as follows: Miss Booth's yorkshire terrier -- 3 Toy Open; Mrs Cawthen's gordon setter -- 3 Gundog Open, 2 A/V Not Bred by Exhibitor; Mr/Mrs McMillan's Siberian husky - 2 Working Open, 1 Non Sporting; Miss Sheldeon's dalmation - 3 Minor Pup Dog; Mr and Mrs Tanner's Afghan hound - 3 Hound Open.

Our next show will be held on Saturday, September 30, judge Mrs F Somerfield.

Anyone wishing to train their dogs for the showring is welcome to attend classes which are held at 8pm on Wednesdays at All Saints Hall, Burcot Lane, Bromgsrove.
