FOLLOWING on from Bella Patterson's recent letter, I too would ask fellow drivers for a bit of space as we all know parking is at a premium in Bromsgrove, so let's use it wisely.

However, while I completely oppose the charges levelled on disabled and older drivers recently, I would like to point out that a little bit of respect and understanding from pensioners would not go amiss.

I refer to an occasion outside Asda last week where I was verbally abused by an elderly driver who wanted my parking space and could not understand that being six months pregnant and having a grizzly young child would slow my packing speed down somewhat.

This rather smart looking gentleman continued to wait despite parking spaces becoming available and then wound down his window and said something along the lines that I shouldn't be driving if i couldn't cope with doing a weekly shop.

We are all opposed to the charges being imposed on the disabled and pensioners, but a little respect and understanding the other way would not hurt.
